How many years have you been teaching?

This is my 9th year.

Why did you become a teacher?

Because I loved liturature. I wanted to be able to do something where I would be using my degree and I thought that this would be the best way to do that.

Would you ever dye your hair completely pink?

Sure, yes, if, I guess, I was a spokesperson for breast cancer or was going to get paid a large sum of money.

What is your secret to keeping class interesting?

I think the question implies that my classes are always intersting and thats not nessacerily the case but students find topics they deal with everyday and that keeps it intersting.

What is your favorite food?

I really like Thai food, spicy.

Think about back in high school, if you had to place yourself in a stereotypical high school clique which one would it be?

I was a loner, geek. I didn’t have a lot of school spirit. I had braces, pimples and glasses. I wasn’t a very happy teenager.

Do you plan to be a teacher for the rest of your life?

I think so, not exactly sure, I guess I can’t predict the future but I’ve enjoyed it so far.

When is war okay?

Okay, I would say, I guess war is okay when there aren’t any other options, such as a goverment that’s hurting its people. When the outcome will save more people.

What is your favorite type of pie?

I like pecan pie. I’m not really a pie eater but if I have to it would be pecan pie.

How do students do well in your class?

I have to admit that students who do well are avid readers and writers. There are also some students who come in and are consistantly prepared with homework and study.

What’s the first thing you think of when I say spoon?

Fork.

What do you want your obituary to read?

I think, this is hard, but I would want it to read that I was a person who practiced what they preach. I think that’s hard to dol. Teachers have some expectatiions that if they steped back and think about back when they were 14 or 15 they may relize that they are very high.

What do you love about yourself?

I like to think that I have a great sense of humor and that’s why you’ll always see me laughing at my own jokes.

What makes you hard to work with?

I think I can be a difficult person but as much as I encourage group work in my classroom, I’m actually very quiet around my peers and reluctant to share.

What is the most essential part of your morning routine?

Driving to BSGE and finding a parking spot and then if I come early enough, I love wiping the desks clean because I think it makes a more organized class where it’s easier to pay attention.

Tea or coffee?

Tea.

Lick a homeless man’s foot or eat 200 worms?

Eat 200 worms.

Favorite movie of all time?

Let me think… that’s hard… Requiem for a Dream.

What BSGE teacher would you want to be stuck with on a deserted island?

What is up with these questions. Roy Steele because he’s an art teacher and art was my favorite subject in high school. So that way he could teach me art and we wouldn’t be bored. Then we could make a boat and leave.

What is your favorite smell?
There’s a specific smell of the flying saucer from Carvel. It reminds me of my childhood.
