10th graders in Mr. Michael Maguire’s art class recently turned the 4th and 3rd floor walls into a gallery. The pieces were inspiried by Kara Walker’s exhibitions.
Students worked in groups of 4 or 5 students. Each group chose a theme, many of them political, and then designed a peice depicting their view on the topic. One piece protrays a giant Earth being eaten by buissness men in suits (perhaps hinting at the effects of businesses on our world?). Another is about prostitution and another is about abortions.
Students cut black paper to create the shapes and then stuck them to the wall.
