An Oasis In Astoria

On March 4th The Noguchi Museum’s Teen Advisory Board or [TAB] held their first event of the year.  With approximately 65 teens in attendance, 9 of whom were BSGE seniors, the members of [TAB] premiered their new promotional video, INterpret: An Oasis in Astoria.  This video can now be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aV-cY8VwnAY.  From 4:30 to 6 PM, teens were also encouraged to explore the galleries and create their own sculptures in the museum’s Education Room.  While some of the teens were returning visitors, many were new to the space and pleasantly surprised by the unfamiliar “oasis in Astoria.”
The museum is located at 9-01 33rd Rd Queens, NY 11106 (adjacent to Socrates Sculpture Park and across the street from Costco).  Admission for any NYC high school student is waived with a valid ID, so feel free to visit!
Receive notifications about upcoming teen events and volunteer opportunities at the Noguchi Museum by signing up to the Museum’s Teen Mailing List (which is posted on the Art Room door).  Also, for high school students interested in becoming a [TAB] member in the next school year, please contact Pamela Reyes at anamariapamelareyes@gmail.com.
