Why did you want to become a teacher?
Teaching found me.  I was looking to make a change in my career, and New York City was in need of teachers. Several events came together, and I became a teacher.

How do you feel about working here for so long?
I did not realize that I had been here so long.  Time really does fly when you enjoy what you do.

Why did you choose to work at BSGE?
I did not choose BSGE, BSGE chose me.  I am very fortunate that they did.

I don’t have any one favorite cuisine.  My wife is a fantastic cook, so I guess her cuisine, which is varied.

If you were stuck on an island, what teacher would you take with you?
Does it have to be one teacher?  Each of us has many and different talents that would be useful on an island.  So to choose one is tough, besides, if I left my wife off that list, she would probably tell me not to come back.

How tall are you?
I am 6’ 6” tall.

Why do you choose the music that you play [during class]?
When I was growing up, music was played in our house.  I learned to appreciate a variety of music from Glen Miller to Frank Sinatra to Big Band Music.  Growing up in the 60’s and into the 70’s helped to expand the different types of music I enjoyed listening to and still do. It also helps me to relax, and collect my thoughts.

What is your favorite sport?
My favorite sport is college basketball.  I played all through grammar school, high school and college. Although our younges    t son played college baseball, and that was fun to watch, especially when he was pitching.

What are your hobbies?
Gardening is my favorite hobby.  Our children are all out on their own and this gives me time to work on the back yard.  I find it very relaxing and I get to see the results of my labor.  I also enjoy working on my car.

What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Field of Dreams, for 2 scenes in particular.  James Earl Jones speaks about how baseball has mirrored our society, and I feel that is very true.  The other sceneis when Kevin Costner is having a game of catch with his father. I have very fond memories of doing that with my father when I was young, and in turn doing that with my sons when they were young.

What did you want to be while growing up?

What is your favorite book?
I don’t have any one favorite book.  I enjoy reading all sorts of genres.  If I find a book I like, I don’t put it down.  I try to read it till the end, over a day or two.  the last book I read was title “A Dog’s Purpose”.  It was a novel, and having had dogs, I could not put it down.

If you could live in any other place in the world, where would it be and why?
If I could be live in any other place in the world, I am not sure. I  have spent my whole life in New York.  It is my home. It would be tough to leave.  If I had to pick one place, it would have to have a beach, with a noticeable change in the seasons. The beach is the key.

If someone were to write a book about you, what do you think the title will be?
I do not know why anybody would want to write a book about me.  My life has been what family and I have made it. Nothing really special, except a family that I am very proud of.  So maybe the title would be “Who Is That Guy, and Why Did I Bother Writing This Book”.

If you won $600 million in the lottery, what would you do with the money?
If I won 600 million in the lottery, maybe I would buy that island you asked about before and move there.  The rest I would find worth while organizations and give the money to them.  I would like to see something done to prevent children from going to bed hungry.

I dislike people that look to take advantage of other people.
