Dual-threat carries BSGE Lady Sting past Info Tech 12-2, Record Improves to 6-0

BSGE Lady Sting beat Info Tech 12-2 Tuesday behind both the bat and the arm of Claire Bergerson, on Tuesday, April 21st, at Bis Bush Field.

Bergerson did her best to jumpstart the offense for BSGE Lady Sting, reaching base three times. She singled in the first and third innings.

Info Tech couldn’t get anything going so long as Bergerson was on the hill. Info Tech managed just one hit off of Bergerson, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out nine during her six innings of work.

BSGE scored six runs in the fifth supported by an RBI single by Laura Agosta and a two-run single by Angelica Benares.

Virginia Singleman was the game’s losing pitcher. She allowed 12 runs in 5 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out none.

BSGE Lady Sting never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on an error and an RBI single by Jamie Carroll.

Two runs in the top of the third helped Info Tech close its deficit to 3-2. A single by Emilly Gomez and an error fueled Info Tech ‘s comeback. Finally, Bergerson induced an inning-ending ground out from Danielle Rosa.

BSGE also won both ends of a non league double header on Saturday, April 18th, at Grover Cleveland HS. The final score for the first game was 12-5 and the second game 12-1.
