A superb effort by Nina Don led Lady Sting to a 20-1 win in five innings over Information Tech on Thursday at Murray Playground.
Don hit two home runs for Lady Sting. Don went 2-4 in the game with five RBIs and four runs scored. Don homered in the first and fourth innings.
Fifteen runs in the first three innings helped Lady Sting blow out Information Tech. A three-run home run by Don, an RBI triple by Claire Bergerson, an RBI triple by Jamie Carroll, an RBI single by Peyton Heron, a two-run error, and a two-run single by Emily Costa in the first inning and a two-run single by Jennifer Qu during the second inning supplied the early offense for Lady Sting.
Bergerson baffled Information Tech HS, striking out 11 batters. Bergerson allowed no earned runs on one hit and no walks over five innings.
Lady Sting Softball easily handled Information Tech pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 13 RBIs and 15 runs scored.
Lady Sting Softball scored three runs in the third inning, and then followed it up with three more in the fourth. In the third, Lady Sting Softball scored on an RBI triple by Costa, plating Don.
The inning got off to a hot start when Don homered.
Lady Sting Softball tacked on another two runs in the fifth. A ground out scored Beatriz Benares for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Bergerson’s triple, bringing home Costa.
