Shana, our Assistant Principal at BSGE, is known for her hard work and dedication to not only our students but also to the staff and community. Shana always finds time to socialize with students, talking to them about interests and hobbies. Her open-minded approach creates a welcoming and comfortable environment where students feel nurtured. Shana’s hospitality and kindness make BSGE a warm and safe space for everyone. With that being said, we will delve into Shana’s daily routine to understand how she creates a bond with the students in our school and makes BSGE the place it is.
Shana’s experience as an AP and as a teacher for seventh grade at BSGE has been great. She enjoys being able to see the school through the viewpoint of a teacher and a high faculty member. The experience has taught her many lessons, one of them being to listen before reacting. When asked to elaborate, she explained how she preferred to see all the sides to a situation or story before getting mad or angry. Shana said that being an AP is fun and “you never know what’s going to happen.” Some difficulties during her day are time management and resources—“Sometimes it seems as though the day isn’t long enough to do things the way I would like to.” However, even through hardships, Shana finds her job memorable. She says “seeing kids create amazing things and making memories” makes it worth it.
Socializing with students is another part of Shana’s job that makes up a big part of her day. She genuinely enjoys interacting with them and says they are “funny, smart, cute, and all have interesting perspectives” and “fun to talk to.” She often gives motivation to them with quotes and mottos, one of them being, “go hard or go home.” Not only does she use this to encourage students in their school life, but also to get herself through a particularly tough day, reminding herself “the next day will be better.”
Overall, it is evident that Shana represents the BSGE’s optimistic community and provides assistance and help to those who need it. Her work day is filled with passion for her job, and loyalty towards school, and makes BSGE a fun and expressive place. The school appreciates her contribution and lively spirit every day.
