As we come to the end of the first semester here in the 2025-2026 school year at BSGE, many students in the seventh grade have reflected on their experience. Many say that overall BSGE was so far more academically challenging, and socially welcoming than their old school.
When asked how the first semester at BSGE was different to last year’s, seventh grader Ruhee D replied that BSGE was “less strict, harder, intense academically, and teachers were more educated on their topic.”
“Last year was more carefree and easygoing, less homework, and the format of events at school was different. It feels more welcoming here at BSGE. And I learned more here than the first semester last year,” said another student, Olivia S, in seventh grade. Other students have said that “the students are more friendly. The teachers are better at teaching students to think critically and the academics are more advanced.” Ali A. has also said that BSGE is “challenging, accelerating, and there is more pressure for high school on the seventh graders.”
Seventh grader Anna A. added that “at BSGE the first semester was a lot different from last year because, there was a lot more work and a lot more work load, but the first semester actually helped me learn a lot and my writing had changed so much and my math skills as well. I expected it to be hard, but not so hard, I also expected it to start out easy, but we dove right in and we were learning many new skills daily…Compared to the normal seventh grade curriculum, to the BSGE curriculum, the normal curriculum feels easier, the BSGE curriculum literally teaches you so much in such a small amount of time, and it makes you feel more confident when you see the normal curriculum. For new coming seventh graders I suggest taking notes, finishing work, doing all the homework, and I cannot stress this enough STUDY!”
To conclude, many students in the 7th grade at BSGE realize that BSGE has been very welcoming to the new students of this year, and the academic rush has definitely surprised many people but made people feel that they have learned more. This has been a wonderful first semester here at BSGE for our new 7th graders.
